Herty Advanced Materials Development Center
The Herty Advanced Materials Development Center, an operating unit of the Herty Foundation, is a materials technology, manufacturing, and business development resource located near Savannah, Georgia in the USA. The Center provides laboratory development and testing to pilot plant manufacturing of new materials during scale-up as well as the commercial production of specialized materials for niche markets. Herty represents a cost effective resource for the creation and realization of new and enhanced products that are materials dependent.

Herty employs a cost-effective team approach that in addition to its own assets, relies on the resources of its industrial, academic and governmental alliances, thereby adding considerable value to the services it offers. This project-driven team approach has be proven to break down barriers between industries, universities, and governmental organizations thereby bringing increased human and capital resources to bear on the advanced materials development process. Herty's team concept also bridges the historical gap that has existed between industrial designers, engineers and scientists by including industrial designers in the materials development process. Results point to a value constellation that revolves around ideas, communications and a rich resource pool on which the Foundation can, in confidence, draw as needed.
